Okay, first and foremost, I was not paid to do this review and I bought this all with my hard-earned money, pinky promise. Now that that is out of the way, if you haven’t seen this makeup all over the internet we probably wouldn’t be good friends because Google will NOT stop showing it to me and Google knows me pretty damn well. We're like this 🤞 So if Google has been showing this brand to you too we’d probably be besties because girrrrrl we like the same things.
The cosmetics brand 100% Pure pigments their products using FRUIT! How freaking amazing is that?! Bonus, everything smells great too! Magical fruit pigment aside, they are a vegan, cruelty-free and toxic free (no artificial colors, artificial fragrances, or synthetic chemical preservatives) brand. Which are all things I look for when I am putting something on my skin. After all, it is our largest organ.

So with all of the positive things they had going for them, I knew I had to give them a try. I wanted to try a little bit of everything so I purchased foundation, mascara, a makeup palette, and even conditioner. I spent enough that I was eligible for a free gift (if you know me, you know I LOVE free things!), so brownie points to the brand for giving out goodies, they get me.

Okay, so I tried it all, what did I think?
I’ve been using tinted moisturizer from Beauty Counter for the last year and don’t get me wrong, I LOVE their product! But I was feeling like trying something with a bit more coverage so I opted for Fruit Pigmented Healthy Foundation in the Toffee color.
At first, I wasn’t sure if I loved or hated this, but when I first started using it I had just moved to a completely different climate and my skin was still getting used to things. Now that that phase is over I absolutely love this product. I do mix it in with either a little bit of coconut oil or moisturizer before applying it to my face. Otherwise, it feels like I can’t spread it out evenly. I don’t mind having to do that at all because it keeps my skin moisturized, but you might need to do that for your skin type. Overall, I will be buying this product again or trying one of their other foundations for sure.
I ran out of my usual Mineral Fusions Volumizing Mascara so I thought I'd try something new. I’ve been using that one for years and I’ve tried others and keep going back to it. My eyelashes curl so well with it compared to other mascaras so I knew this new product might be a hard sell. I tried the Maracuja Mascara: Black Tea, yeah you read that right, it gets its color from black tea.
The first thing I noticed was how good it smells, it took me by surprise because I’ve never really noticed that mascara had a smell before. Good smell aside, I wanted to love this, I really did! But I just didn’t, it was messy to apply and required a lot of clean up after and even worse than that, my eyelashes would not stay curled at all. That’s a deal breaker for me. I kept trying different ways of putting it on but nothing seemed to make me fall in love. I could have sent it back. They have an awesome return policy, but I kept it for too long because I wanted to love it that much. Oh well, back to old reliable.
This is the kind of stuff I NEVER use anymore. But 2017 is the year of self-care and wearing more makeup is on my list (not because I feel like I need to, but because it makes me feel good when I do), but I need some serious lessons. I used to be decent at this stuff and have totally lost any skill I may have had haha!
I went with the Fruit Pigmented Punk Princess Palette and if I’m being honest, this palette has pros and cons depending on what look you’re going for. All of the colors do have a bit of shimmer, so if that’s not something you want this isn’t going to be your go to product. I will say all of the colors are HIGHLY pigmented. A little goes a long way! I’ve been using it every day for blush and occasionally for highlight and eyes. I plan on purchasing a few more of their palettes.
Here is my completed look using only the 3 make up products I purchased. Keep in mind, I wear my makeup pretty lightly and these colors are much more pigmented than they portray here because I went LIGHT with them.
Does anyone else hate trying new hair product? I swear, either my hair feels like sludge afterward or it feels just as dry as it did without the conditioner. Note that I only wash my hair once a week so I might not be using anything frequently enough to notice a difference. So, this product is still up for debate.
TBH, I haven’t touched it yet. I’ve been beaching a lot this summer and I have been letting the sun rays give me golden kisses and I ain’t mad about it. The hubby uses sunscreen more than I do, so eventually, someone is bound to try it. I’ll update when we do.
So there you have it. Will you be trying out fruit pigmented makeup for yourself? Do you think it's a cool idea? Do you think it's weird? Let me know in the comments.
